Solara takes its name from sol, the sun. The logo splits the word with a long line, SOL ara, and in Latin ara means a raised place of ritual, so the design is sun on one side, ritual on the other. We cut the room in half down its length. One side is tall and full of light, with sawtooth scoops in the roof and folding glass doors onto a garden. The other is low and heavy, pressing down over the bar, the shaded heart where the coffee is made and handed to you. A thin black line marks the border between them, the logo’s underscore, built.
