SCOTT House
A specialty coffee bar in a classical English register, built almost entirely in a red brick system, standing in quiet conversation with the tower behind it. One material, two terraces, and a palm at the corner holding it all together.

Concept
SCOTT House takes its name from a street, and the street is made of brick. So rather than set the cafe against its surroundings, we built it from the same earth. The café is built to create many outdoor versus indoor experiences, where the bricks open up allowing sliding window to generate outside-in and inside-out vistas. Lattice-like brick screen is used to mark the drive-thru as well bounding allowing some transparency between the clients and the tower’s ground floor. The interior is molded like a fancy candy store, where red makeup is spread across key elements.

The interior
Warm and intimate, in terracotta, honey and rust. A fluted timber feature wall fans out behind the bar beneath the Scott mark. The counter is skirted in a soft rust curtain, a professional setup sits ready, and a wall of house beans branded S.beans is lit like a small library. Above it all, a circular skylight drops a disc of daylight into the room. Small, deliberate, and built entirely around the ritual of coffee.
